The Botanical Garden offers its friends and members the opportunity to purchase an engraved brick in the Bodine Visitors Center Courtyard. Bricks can be purchased to commemorate births, graduations, weddings, anniversaries or other special occasions, or simply to honor someone who is loved.
We will engrave your name or that of someone dear to you or in memory of a loved one on a brick; you may choose the appropriate size.
Bricks come in three sizes:
4 x 8 inches$100 3 lines, using no more than 20 characters per line including punctuation, spaces and numbers.
8 x 8 inches$300 6 lines, same specifications
16 x 16 inches$1,500 6 lines, same specifications
Funds generated from brick sales will help us maintain the area around the Courtyard and will further our mission to educate the community about St. Croix’s rich ethnobotanical heritage.
The Visitors Center was opened in 2006. It consists of an orientation center, called the Pavilion, the air-conditioned Museum Store, handicapped-accessible bathrooms, a pergola and the open-air courtyard paved with the engraved bricks. The bricks ivory color is similar to the Danish bricks used in historic structures around St. Croix. Your message will be placed in perpetuity in the Courtyard at the St. George Village Botanical Garden.
The Visitors Center is a gateway to the Garden through which students, residents and visitors learn about our living and non-living collections, historical ruins and natural beauty. Your brick will be long-lasting, visual proof of your generosity and interest in our beautiful and historic Botanical Garden.
